Opis: Prepared by A.S.T.M. COMMITTEE D-5 On Coal and Coke SAMPLING METHODS CHEMICAL ANALYSIS METHODS OF TESTING SPECIFICATIONS AND CLASSIFICATIONS DEFINITIONS OF TERMS Published by the AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING MATERIALS 1948 str. 156 stan db (podniszczona lekko okładka, nieaktualne pieczątki) ISBN FOREWORD This publication brings together in convenient form the various A.S.T.M. methods of testing, definitions, and specifications for coal and coke, and the standard specifications for the classification of coal according to rank and grade. Publication in this form has been made in response to the widespread demand for these specifications and methods of test in connection with the evaluation of coal. Included also as information only are eight proposed methods which are published in draft form for the purpose of soliciting comments. Such proposed methods have not been formally approved by the Society and are distinguished from the standards and tentatives by the absence of an A.S.T.M. serial designation. The Society is the recognized American agency for the standardization of methods for sampling and testing coal and coke, and some of the standards contained in this compilation also have been approved as American Standards by the American Standards Association as indicated by the symbols at the top of the title pages. Committee D-5 is engaged actively in the further improvement of the methods and specifications and in the development of additional tests, in particular for the plasticity and swelling of coal, the ignitabihty of coal and coke, and methods of sampling coal. Suggestions and criticisms will be appreciated and should be sent to the chairman of the committee, Mr. W. A. Selvig, U. S. Bureau of Mines, Pittsburgh 13, Pa. September, 1948.
